The resort of La Molina
La Molina is Spain's oldest ski resort. Located in the Cerdanya region, it boasts 71 kilometres of terrain spread over 68 ski runs at different altitudes, making it an ideal destination for ski and snowboard enthusiasts and experts alike. Surrounded by incredible scenery, La Molina is also perfect for families. Not only does it have a tourist office close to the facilities, but also a wide variety of restaurants, hotels, a spa, several ski schools, a ski hire shop and a sports centre adapted for the disabled. La Molina is also one of three ski resorts in Catalonia recognised by the Catalan Tourism Agency as a promoter of sport and tourism for people with disabilities. It has accessible facilities capable of adapting to people who need special equipment for skiing or snowboarding.
Skiing in La Molina
La Molina offers the perfect combination of slopes to make the most of the experience. 60% of the ski runs are artificially snow-covered, with 522 snow cannons and a maximum height of 2,537 metres. It has 68 ski runs, divided according to degree of difficulty and altitude, some ideal for beginners and others more difficult, perfect for more experienced skiers. There are 16 different lifts, including chairlifts and magic carpets, available throughout the resort, so you can enjoy all kinds of activities. The resort has been chosen to host major international events such as the World Disabled Alpine Skiing Championships in 2013 and the World Snowboarding Championships in 2011.
Activities in La Molina
Aside from the classic winter activities, La Molina offers a wide range of additional activities for all ages, including toboggan and snowshoe runs, tubing areas, tandem and Segway rides, an amusement park and tree adventure park, and even a snow escape room. The resort also has a Photopoint area, where you can have your photo taken and download them as a great souvenir of the day. The park offers different types of ski passes and day or multi-day passes, and you don't need to bring your ski or snowboard equipment with you, as you can hire it on site. If you prefer, you can also hire skis from one of our Skimium shops.
