Ski and snowboard hire Southern Alps Massif

Southern Alps ski resorts

Among the ski areas in the Southern Alps, the resorts of La Joue du Loup, Superdévoluy, Ancelle, St Leger Les Melèzes and Orcières 1850 are close to Gap, the little town that was named an Alpine town in 2002. For those who love Embrun, the resorts of Risoul, Vars and Les Orres are the ideal place to spend some quality time without straying too far from the city overlooking the Durance. Other well-known resorts include Molines en Queyras and Arvieux en Queyras.

In Barcelonnette, skiers can take advantage of the ski area at resorts such as Pra Loup, le Sauze, la Foux d'Allos and d'Allos le Seignus. In the south of the region, new resorts have sprung up, including the beautiful Auron, Valberg and the must-see Isola 2000.

From a tourist point of view, one of the great assets of the Southern Alps remains its natural parks, such as the Vercors, the Ecrins, the Northern Queyras, the Mercantour, the Verdon and the Lubéron. If you're on holiday in this beautiful region, be sure to visit some of Europe's highest villages, such as Saint-Véran (2042 metres) in the Queyras, not forgetting Chantemerle, the resort of ski and rally champion Luc Alphand.
