The Austrian ski resort of Schruns Tschagguns, at an altitude of 2,430 metres, offers a multitude of activities in its ski area. Its 140km of ski runs and 45km of cross-country ski runs mean that everyone can enjoy the resort. 14 ski runs, 80% of which are blue runs, are ideal for beginners. The resort of Schruns-Tschagguns
The two main resorts of the Schruns-Tschagguns ski area are located in Austria's Vorarlberg region, at around 690 m altitude, in the Alpine valley of Montafon on the Litz. As the Schruns Tschagguns ski area lies in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps, it is an ideal holiday region for winter sports fans. The ski resort not only offers ideal conditions for a winter holiday, thanks to its many different slopes. Both resorts also offer a tourist office, accommodation, great opportunities for strolling and shopping, a choice of restaurants, inns and cafés, and plenty of activities for young and old alike. From the hotels and other accommodation, there is quick access to the ski lifts and ski hire, and a ski bus is available.
Skiing in Schruns-Tschagguns
With its blue, red and black runs, the Schruns Tschagguns ski area offers ideal conditions for beginners, experienced skiers and professionals alike. What's more, there are numerous ski lifts and cable cars to take skiers to the resort of their choice. From one resort, a long ski run leads directly to the centre of Tschagguns. The ski area in the Verwallgruppe, Rätikon and Silvretta ranges in altitude from around 700 to 2120 metres, with 140 kilometres of pistes. The Silvretta Montafon and Golm ski areas are around 2.0 and 4.0 kilometres respectively from the centre of Tschagguns, and the Silvretta Montafon ski area is around 0.4 kilometres from Schruns. These ski areas offer guaranteed skiing fun on slopes with guaranteed snow cover. Whether you prefer downhill skiing, carving, freeriding, snowboarding or cross-country skiing on one of the groomed slopes, you'll find the ideal conditions here for every type of winter holiday. The ski pass gives access to all the ski resorts in the area. Of course, the Schruns Tschagguns ski area also offers the chance to hire ski and snowboard equipment from one of our Skimium shops.
Activities in Schruns-Tschagguns
After an exciting day on the slopes, you want to relax and recharge your batteries. At Schruns Tschagguns, there are plenty of options off the slopes. Perhaps you want to relax in the hotel's spa area. Here you can pamper yourself or be pampered. Or maybe you prefer a bit more action and meet up in one of the bars and refuges for après-ski. On a non-skiing day, be sure to explore the old town of Schruns. The historic centre of Schruns invites you to go shopping in the attractive pedestrian zone with its traditional costume shops and small boutiques selling Montafon specialities and handicrafts. Or how about a winter hike? The Schruns Tschagguns ski area offers numerous winter hiking routes, along snow-lined mountain streams and with magnificent views. The Schluchtenweg and Illwegrunde, for example, are popular hiking routes from Tschagguns. You can also choose the hiking route that leads directly from the church square in Schruns to St. Gallenkirch on prepared, open paths.
