The Grindelwald ski resort is situated between 796 metres and 2500 metres above sea level. Its many ski lifts give skiers of all abilities access to the resort's various slopes. The resort of Grindelwald
Grindelwald is a high mountain ski resort in the Jungfrau region, nestling at the foot of the Eiger. These two peaks, which rise to 4,158 and 3,967 metres respectively, as well as the Mönch - 4,099 metres - offer an exceptional environment. As well as by road, the municipality is also served by train, as it is the terminus of the Bernese Oberland Railways line. And don't forget: from Grindelwald you can reach the Jungfraujoch underground station, the highest in Europe. Nestling at around 1,000 metres above sea level, the village is home to some delightful 19th-century wooden chalets. It also has all the infrastructure - tourist office, hotels, restaurants, shops - essential to a resort worthy of the name. Skiing in Grindelwald
Grindelwald has two ski areas. The first, known as Grindelwald-First, provides access to 8 lifts and a gondola from the village centre. Grindelwald also shares a second ski area with Wengen. In total, the resort offers almost 300 kilometres of pistes. And there's something for every level: 106 kilometres of blue runs, 141 of reds, 37 of blacks and 11 of off-piste. To access all these snow-covered slopes, Grindelwald deploys 13 drag lifts, 24 ski lifts, 12 gondolas and 6 "little" trains. A ski resort par excellence, Grindelwald offers a multitude of activities and entertainment. Grindelwald is home to Europe's longest toboggan run, at 15 kilometres, for example. There are also plenty of hiking trails, stretching over 70 kilometres. So it's time to put on your snowshoes and set off on an adventure.
