The Baqueira Beret ski resort is located in Spain, in the Lleida Pyrenees. It is divided into three main sectors: Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua, which make up the resort. The resort of Baqueira-Beret
One of Europe's most important ski resorts is located in Alto Aran, in Spain's Catalan Pyrenees. It was inaugurated in December 1964, and since 2003 some of its pistes have also run through the neighbouring Alt Aneu valley. It has a multitude of slopes for all levels: 166 km of skiable runs with marked trails and itineraries offering a range of activities that is unique in Southern Europe. The resort is actually made up of three different areas: Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua. The first is the oldest, although it is equipped with the latest technology required for this type of resort. Beret has slopes of different levels and snowparks for all the family to enjoy. Bonaigua is all about powder, top-level slopes and a very special natural setting, assets of unrivalled value to white-sport enthusiasts. The latter area is aimed at highly experienced skiers and professionals; there are plenty of off-piste and freerider zones.
Skiing in Baqueira-Beret
With altitudes ranging from 2,610 to 1,500 metres above sea level, it's a delight for any fan of the sport. It offers a total of 111 runs: 6 green (5 kilometres), 43 blue (75 kilometres), 45 red (59 kilometres), 17 black (20 kilometres), plus 7 kilometres of Nordic ski circuit and a transport capacity of 61,024 people/hour if we add the total of its 36 lifts, magnificent scenery and excellent snow conditions. It is also worth highlighting the care taken with the facilities and the beauty of the natural environment, with peaks of over 3,000 metres (Maladeta and Aneto, for example). The ski resort of Baqueira Beret also boasts magnificent high mountain lakes, such as Lago Mar and Tor de Riu. Every winter, the resort welcomes celebrities who spend their holidays here, as it offers excellent quality hotels at the foot of the slopes.
