The resort of Arinsal
Arinsal is a ski resort in the Pyrenees located around ten kilometres from Andorra la Vella. Together with Pal and Arcalís, it forms part of the Vallnord ski area. With its stone houses typical of the Comallempla valley, Arinsal is one of Andorra's leading ski resorts. Situated at the gateway to the Coma Pedrosa valleys nature park, Arinsal offers marvellous panoramic views of the Pyrenees. Skiing in Arinsal
A single ski pass gives access to the slopes of the Vallnord ski area, of which Arinsal is a part. You can also buy one just for the Pal-Arinsal sector. The latter offers 63 kilometres of pistes at altitudes of up to 2,560 metres. This part of the Vallnord ski area has 4 green runs, 16 blue runs, the same number of red runs and 5 black runs. There are also 5 slalom runs and 1 snowpark. If you continue on to the Arcalís sector (with the Vallnord ski pass), you'll have a further 26 kilometres of pistes (6 green, 8 blue, 8 red and 2 black), 15 of which are reserved for cross-country skiing.
Activities in Arinsal
An Arinsal season is never short of entertainment! One of the biggest events is the ISMF (International Ski Mountaineering Federation) World Cup. On this occasion, an individual race and a vertical race see the best athletes take on the Coma Pedrosa peak, the highest in Andorra at 2942 metres. Once the slopes at Arinsal are closed, you can take advantage of a thermoludic spa or yoga evenings organised throughout the season. Children will particularly enjoy the visit of the Three Wise Men for Epiphany and Carnival in February. Snowshoe trekking, an introduction to SnowTrike, a kind of snow bike, and a panoramic helicopter flight are also among the activities on offer in Arinsal. A visit to Andorra la Vella's tourist office will give you an idea of the rich cultural agenda in store for you in the principality's capital.
