Perched at an altitude of 840 metres, the Abondance ski resort is located in the upper Dranse valley in Haute-Savoie. Once you've collected your equipment from one of our Abondance ski hire shops, you can have fun on 600 kilometres of slopes spread over more than 280 pistes in the Portes du Soleil ski area, of which the Abondance resort is a part.

The resort of Abondance

Located in the Haute Vallée de la Dranse, the southern, mountainous region of the Chablais Savoyard, the ski resort of Abondance offers a magnificent view of the Chablais massif, which reaches an altitude of 2432 metres. Surrounded by mountain villages with traditions that are still very much alive, the resort of Abondance combines friendliness and good living with a variety of activities and facilities to match expectations, to be found in our ski rental shop in Abondance.

Skiing in Abondance

More commonly known as the Domaine de l'Éssert, the Abondance ski area is accessible by gondola from the centre of the village to reach its 14 marked runs spread over different sectors such as the Lac, la Corne, Fremoux and l'Écuelle. The l'Éssert ski area makes it easy for beginners to learn to ski, with facilities designed to help them get off to a good start. The Abondance ski resort is equipped with a "fil à Neige" for the very young, children's games and a ski lift based on a green slope at the bottom of the pistes. For thrill-seekers, Abondance is the gateway to the Portes du Soleil ski area, with more than 650 kilometres of pistes spread over 12 resorts. The Portes du Soleil links 12 major resorts, including the renowned chapel of Abondance, the charming resort of Morzine, the lac of Montriond, and the family resort of Les Gets.

Activities in Abondance

Enterested in a variety of sporting activities in winter? The resort of Abondance offers a multitude of choices. It has a 1200-metre ice driving circuit. You can enjoy a group snowshoe hike in the heart of nature. You can also take a dog-sleigh ride, or try your hand at ski joëring, air boarding or snake gliss.
