The resort of La Tania

Originally a small hamlet, the La Tania ski resort takes its name from the Savoyard dialect La Tagna, "the bear's den", after the many plantigrades that occupied the Tarentaise forests until the early 20th century. Situated at an altitude of 1400 metres, the ski resort opened its doors in December 1990, and the following year became an Olympic village for the Albertville Olympic Games. This human-sized ski resort is entirely pedestrianised, and offers an enchanting setting, with its buildings clad in wood to contribute to environmental quality, and its successful integration into the surrounding landscape thanks to its chalets inspired by the traditional architecture of Savoyard hamlets. Skiing in La Tania

The La Tania ski resort invites you to set off on the Courchevel Valley ski area, after collecting your ski hire. Enjoy 150 kilometres of downhill ski runs served by 62 ski lifts. Beginner skiers will find their feet in the Zen zones, fun areas reserved for apprentice skiers, where they can glide along in complete safety, and discover 27 green runs and 44 blue runs to get to grips with the slopes. More experienced skiers and board sports experts can test their technique on 38 red runs and 10 black runs! Need more? The Trois Vallées ski area is the largest in the world, accessible to all skiers, beginners and advanced alike, thanks to its wide variety of slopes. You'll love its generous snow cover, and its many ski lifts that make access to the slopes a breeze.
