The Arcs ski resort facing the Mont Blanc, spreads across 4 levels. Connected by shuttle bus over a wide road and by the funicular train from Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the Arcs is different from other ski resorts by its very modern design placing creativity in the limelight. The Arcs 1950 village is the last born of the Arcs ski resort. Open in 2003, this pedestrian village is located at the heart of a hundred-year old forest, and invites its visitors to stroll along its main avenue bordered by restaurants, cafés and boutiques, to linger in the lively, typical Savoy squares, to admire an innovative architecture... As for the Paradiski ski area which opens on December 15, 2012, it allows visitors to enjoy one of the largest ski areas in Europe and the pleasure of skiing between altitudes of 3937 and 11,483 feet while facing the Mont Blanc. Paradiski offers 264 miles of runs for all skiers, beginners or confirmed, large curves, trails that snake through the woods, high mountain runs or free ride courses on exceptional slopes...
From December 15 to December 22, 2012, for the fourth year, the resort will welcome the Arcs European Movie Festival: an opportunity for movie-going skiers to take advantage of the first snowfalls and all-day movie sessions in the presence of directors and actors. This year, there will be some 100 projections and events that will take place in all the Arc sites (Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000) with the opportunity for interested parties to meet the film crews. This year the festival will take a special look at Belgium. So, you want to alternate between the pleasures of skiing and movie-going? Rendezvous in the Arcs 1950 ski resort where a Skimium partner shop is waiting for you. Skimium: the best means for cheap ski hire that is also practical.
