For the end of year holidays, Avoriaz is dressing to the nines and offering skiers numerous activities for young and not so young. Sled races, concerts, torchlight descents, fireworks, ...Avoriaz is an ideal destination for spending unforgettable year-end holidays, with family or with friends. It must be said that the ski resort’s environment is particularly favourable for a change of scenery : located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Avoriaz is a snowy, car-free resort, a village where the streets are the trails, where one can stroll around on skis amid wooden houses that take on the appearance of chalets... Children can slide along on their sleds, carriages replace taxis, and sunny terraces invite you to take advantage of the good life...
It is thus the ideal decor for spending exceptional Christmas holidays with one’s children, and taking advantage of the numerous events that will enliven the resort. The programme is enchanting as the ski resort this year prepares to please young and old, seduce thrill seekers as well as contemplative souls quick to marvel at a magical show. For example, children aged 5 to 14 will throw themselves, by category, down an 80 metre lighted slope, for a bouncy sled race! Parents will immortalize their children’s slipping and sliding in a super heated ambiance... a launch of celestial lanterns will be the opportunity to light up the resort’s sky and to magnify the already sumptuous Avoriaz decor... You will also be able to participate in a spectacular event by Sébatien Cohedet who will sculpt two 150 kg blocks of ice, each with a scene sure to please and amaze the public. Finally, December 31, visitors will be able to view some 200 French Ski School instructors trace through the mountain on one of the most beautiful descents in the Alps, the Arare slope. This torchlight descent will be concluded by the year-end fireworks show.Skimium also recommends:
